60 copies for the 60th anniversary of the 007 saga
Custom painting, gold badges, cover 007, certificate of authenticity, €29,900
As announced last week, James Bond 007 returns to the Triumph range with the launch of a new limited edition following the Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 that saw the light of day for Die Can Wait.
Except that this time this special edition was born to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the saga born in 1962 and which today has 25 feature films. The Hickley manufacturer therefore started on a completely different footing, relying on the sporty Speed Triple 1200 RR.
This RR Bond edition stands out above all with its special livery, combining three shades of black, ‘granite’ gray and ‘storm’ grey, and which includes the official ’60 years of Bond’ logo on the side of the tank and the titles of the 25 films of everything above. The front end features the gun barrel edges seen in the opening sequences of the films, as well as hand-crafted gold piping around the entire bike. Triumph’s triangular logos also have this golden hue.
The bike also comes with a custom 007 interior livery that takes on the design of the secret agent, as well as a certificate of authenticity signed by Nick Bloor, Triumph boss.
Technically, the Bond Edition remains strictly identical to the standard Speed Triple 1200 RR with its 1160 cc three-cylinder in-line engine delivering 180 hp. and 125 Nm, its Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension and its Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires.
After 60 years, only sixty examples of the bike would be produced and not one more, each benefiting from its own numbered plate affixed to the upper fork crown. In France, ten models were put on sale at a price of 29,900 euros. No need to rush to his dealer, the 60 copies have already found buyers.
