If you use electricity for heating, it is advisable to invest in a thermostat programmable (costing from 60 to 250 euros) for temperature control. According to estimates, this allows you to save on heating up to 15%. Ademe, Environmental Transition Agency
who also recommends reduce the heating in case of a short absence and when the outside temperature is milder, install heating to protect against frost in case of prolonged absence and reduce heat by 1°Cwhich reduces its consumption by 7%.

The ideal average temperature, the agency clarifies, is this 19°C inside the case. The average value is modulated depending on the time of day. Ademe offers the following tests:

  • living rooms : from 20 to 21°C in occupied living rooms; from 16 to 17°C the rest of the time;
  • Bedrooms : 17°C is recommended at night and when there are no people in the room; 20°C if the room is occupied during the day;
  • Bathroom : 22°C is recommended when taking a shower; The rest of the time is from 16 to 17°C.

In general, several tips prevent heat loss:

  • close the shutters for the night : up to 60% heat loss through windows;

A number that could double by 2025. The most effective way is to equip yourself with a power strips with switch or a remote control to turn everything off easily.
