On October 6, Google showed off the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in detail. Even if they don’t offer any major new hardware, they still manage to innovate on the software side, especially with new features based on artificial intelligence. The most interesting is certainly Super Rez Zoom (or super resolution zoom), which could revolutionize the way our smartphones’ photo modules are designed.

As a reminder, the Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with a 50 Megapixel main sensor, 12 Mpx ultra wide angle and 48 Mpx telephoto x5. By clipping these different sensors and using algorithms upgradeThe Pixel 7 Pro can thus offer focal lengths up to x2, x5, x10 and even x30 with increased quality.

That’s the theory, but what does it really look like in practice? To give us an overview, Google has released a photo album taken with the Pixel 7 Pro, and we can say it’s very impressive to say the least.

The first set in Manhattan starts at wide angle (x0.5) and ends at x30 zoom. The wide shot of the city ends with a close-up of the aircraft. Freedom Tower.

The second set of images shows a view of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco that is slightly different from what you normally see.

In addition to these photos showing the quality of the Super Rez Zoom algorithms, additional photos are available in the Google Photos album. That’s enough to make you want to take advantage of pre-order offers on these new Pixel 7s.
